Successful method for Amal carburetor Banjo Bolt replacement:
The carb cylinder housing for the original banjo bolt has a fine whitworth thread - the female aluminum thread often fails from cross threading and/or wear over time.
Use a 5/8"-18 banjo bolt (the Triumph TR6 uses such a bolt)
Have a machinist carefully bore out the aluminum housing for a helicoil and install the helicoil
Note that EBay is a good source for helicoil kits
Cut down the length of the new bolt as necessary
Install the new banjo bolt with two fiber washers
