April 25, 2007
Dear Jon Waynick,
In accordance with your request for a marine survey of the CT 34
(HIN TAC340090577) for the purpose of evaluating its present
condition and estimating its Fair Market Value for Insurance Purposes, I
herewith submit my report.
The subject vessel was personally
inspected by the undersigned on April 17, 2007 and
was found to be a well constructed and appointed vessel. The vessel is
apparently well-kept and can be considered to be suitable for its suggested
intended use of Coastal.
In the conduct of this survey, all parts
of the vessel which were accessible without removal of bulkheads, decks, etc.,
were carefully examined. Every effort was made to determine the vessel's
condition and fair market value compared to similar
vessels.
As a result of my investigation and by
virtue of my experience my opinion is:
Respectfully
submitted,
Accredited Marine Surveyor,

INTRODUCTION
Acting at the request of Jon Waynick
the surveyor did attend onboard the Crumpet on
April 17, 2007 at 9:00 AM where she rested at Riverside Marina, Fort Pierce, Florida. The Ship's Papers were available and appeared to be in
order. A sea trial was not performed. The
reason for the survey is to ascertain the physical condition and value of the
vessel for Coastal. The vessel was surveyed both in and
out of the water. The engine was not operated. AC power was not available. DC power was
available.
No reference or information should be construed to indicate any of the following:
1. Evaluation of the internal condition of the engine and the propulsion system's operating capacity.
2. Electronic compliance with the manufacturer's published
specifications.
This vessel was surveyed without removal of
any parts, including fittings, tacked carpet, screwed or nailed boards, anchors
and chain, fixed partitions, instruments, clothing, spare parts and
miscellaneous materials in the bilge and lockers, or other fixed or semi-fixed
items. Locked compartments or otherwise inaccessible areas would also
preclude inspection. Buyer/owner is advised to open up all such areas for
further inspection. Further, no determination of stability characteristics
or inherent structural integrity has been made and no opinion is expressed with
respect thereto. This survey report represents the condition of the vessel
on the above date and is the unbiased opinion of the undersigned but it is not
to be considered an inventory or a warranty either specified or
implied.
THE MANDATORY STANDARDS PROMULGATED BY

HULL
(INTERIOR)
General Comments: The
vessel's hull interior is well constructed and uses ballast of internal
keel. The interior structure is a framework of longitudinal
stringers encapsulated with FRP. A plywood/FRP sole is glued and
screwed to the top of the longitudinal and athwartship members which are
bonded to the hull. Additionally the bulkheads are bonded to the
hull via applications of fiberglass.
It appears the interior is an
efficient system of side and bottom frames connecting girders, bulkheads
or web frames to provide transverse and longitudinal rigidity.
Limber holes provide efficient drainage of the vessel as
required.
The interior hull appears to be
arranged so that all compartments are accessible and all hatches are
unobstructed, readily accessible, and adequate for their designed
purposes. (NFPA 302-2-1.1).

FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
DEFICIENCIES NOTED UNDER "SAFETY"
SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BEFORE THE VESSEL IS NEXT UNDERWAY. THESE FINDINGS
RELATE TO THE VESSEL'S SAFE AND PROPER OPERATION CONDITION. FINDINGS MAY
ALSO INDICATE A VIOLATION OF USCG REGULATIONS.
DEFICIENCIES NOTED UNDER "DEFICIENCIES
NEEDING ATTENTION" SHOULD BE CORRECTED IN THE NEAR
FUTURE.
"OTHER DEFICIENCIES, NOTES AND COMMENTS" IF ANY, IS AN AREA WHERE THE SURVEYOR MAY MAKE ADDITIONAL COMMENT REGARDING THE VESSEL AND ITS SYSTEMS.

NOTE:
It is advisable that all Seacocks have attached proper sized tapered
wooden plugs. In addition, a proper oil analysis is
recommended for the engine(s).
NOTE ON CARBON
MONOXIDE:
Carbon Monoxide poisoning is a major
concern in any vessel with a source producing device. These devices
are:
a. Internal combustion
engines. One should note that diesel engines produce substantially
less carbon monoxide than gasoline engines.
b. Open flame devices such as:
(1) Cooking ranges,
(2) Central heating plants,
(3) Space heaters,
(4) Water heaters,
(5) Fireplaces, and
(6) Charcoal
grills.
Carbon monoxide in high concentrations can
be fatal in a matter of minutes. Lower concentrations must not be ignored
because the effects of exposure to CO are cumulative and can be just as
lethal.
Even with the best boat design and construction plus utmost care in inspection, operation, and maintenance, hazardous levels of CO may still be present in accommodation spaces under certain conditions. Continuing observation of passengers for symptoms of CO intoxication can be supplemented by an alarm type CO detection device in the accommodation space.
SUMMARY AND VALUATION
STATEMENT OF OVERALL VESSEL RATING OF
CONDITION
The surveyor develops an opinion as to the OVERALL VESSEL RATING OF CONDITION after a survey has been performed and the findings are organized in a logical manner. The grading of a vessel’s condition as developed by BUC RESEARCH and accepted in the marine industry determines the adjustment to the range of base values in the
BUC USED BOAT PRICE GUIDE.
Similar vessels sold within a given time period as well as vessels currently
for sale are evaluated to determine the Market Value.
The following is the accepted marine
grading system of condition:
"EXCELLENT (BRISTOL) CONDITION" - is a vessel that is maintained in
mint or Bristol fashion - usually better than factory new - loaded with extras -
a rarity.
"ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION" - has had above average care and is
equipped with extra electrical and
electronic gear.
"AVERAGE CONDITION" - ready for
sale requiring no additional work and normally equipped for her
size.
"FAIR CONDITION" - requires
usual maintenance to prepare for sale.
"POOR CONDITION" -
substantial yard work required and devoid of
extras.
"RESTORABLE CONDITION" - enough of hull and engine exists to restore the boat to useable condition.
SUMMARY AND VALUATION
As a result of my investigation as stated
in the SYSTEMS AND FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS section of this REPORT
OF SURVEY and by virtue of my experience my opinion of the
OVERALL VESSEL RATING
ABOVE AVERAGE
The CT 34 is a
nicely appointed and well lit vessel of a size that should make a comfortable
Coastal
craft. The overall appearance is that of a well-kept, well-equipped boat
and except for some attention to details noted within this report should perform
with vigor and dignity. In summation the vessel having been subject to the
closest scrutiny available appears sound both structurally and mechanically with
the exceptions noted in the recommendations section of this report. This
vessel has undergone a major refit and additional work is continuing to upgrade
the boat and maintain the integrity of the boat.
Therefore after consideration of the reliability of the data the extent of the necessary adjustments and condition of the vessel it is your surveyor's opinion that the
"FAIR MARKET VALUE" of the subject
vessel is:
forty-one thousand and
00/100dollars
This report is submitted without prejudice
and for the benefit of whom it may concern.
